A drive through the fields
The best way to see the estates is slowly, by car, stopping where the road opens out. Early morning and late afternoon give the softest light.

From Hotel Premier
Tea is one of the crops that shapes the countryside around Bushenyi. Estates cover the rolling hills with neat, dense rows that stay bright green all year, and the district's tea estates and factory near Ishaka are among the best known in western Uganda.
You do not need an appointment to enjoy the scenery. The roads run straight through the fields, and the view changes with the light.
What you will see
The best way to see the estates is slowly, by car, stopping where the road opens out. Early morning and late afternoon give the softest light.
Pickers work the rows by hand through the day. If you want to see the factory side, ask whether a visit can be arranged first, since working factories do not always take visitors.
When to go
Any time of year. Early morning mist over the bushes is the prettiest, and it is a good first stop of the day.
